Thomas Mayr and his father Luis Mayr are a tuned and well-known winemakers’ team, the secret of their success lying in combining traditional heritage with a modern methodology of wine production. With a rigorous selection of the grapes and the utmost respect for the natural composition of the product wines of finest quality are obtained. The speciality of the house and the vinophile’s delight: wine processed from the local vine Lagrein.

For almost 150 years the Mayr family is engaged in winemaking: greatgrandfather Thomas Mayr in the 19th century still in the family’s home town Kurtinig close to the broder to Trentino, grandfather Thomas Mayr from the 1920s onwards in Bozen/Bolzano, where he settled down in Gries in the middle of the Lagrein grape cultivation area, and finally his sons Luis and Thomas Mayr. Today the family business – still small but smart – is led by Luis Mayr and his son Thomas Mayr, the latter adding entrepreneurial spirit to the former’s long and rich experience.
